Ambassador confronted by protestor Amb. Masood Khan of Pakistan visited National Press Club for a Newsmaker press conference on Sept. 9, 2022 to describe extreme weather events and flooding in his country. Right after the event, a woman in the front row jumped up and unfurled a poster about rape and women's rights in Pakistan immediately in front of Amb. Masood. The National Press Club is a professional and social club for working journalists and communications professionals that has been a Washington institution for more than a century. Since 1908, NPC has hosted presidents, kings, queens, prime ministers, Cabinet members, governors, members of Congress and influential leaders in business, entertainment, sport and society to share their views on significant topics and current events with the media and the public. About the photographer

Alan Kotok, CEO of Technology News and Literature, is the National Press Club's photography chair and an event photographer at the Club since 2018. In 2020, he received the Bernie Krug award from NPC, the Club's highest recognition for volunteer service. Kotok is a member of National Press Photographers Association and serves on the professional advisory board at the University Iowa journalism school.
